We are providing
food over 550 families each week.
Praise God
for His blessing and continuted provision for this much-needed
ministry.
From May of 2009 through December 2011 we have served 51,016
families totaling 182,073 people. That is cause for praise!
Praise
God for His many blessings! |
| Thank you to the
volunteers who put hundreds of hours into building our
addition. We
now have so much more space for the food that arrives 5
days a week at the pantry! Look at our Facebook page to
see the whole evolution! |
|
| Donations from individuals
and groups and Scouts add to our shelves as well as those
items from Greater Chicago Food Depository, Jewel, Whole
Foods, and Trader Joes. |
|
| Thank you to the
many, many volunteers who are faithful each week to stock
our refrigerators and our shelves and to those who pack
our bags to deliver to our patrons' cars. They are amazing. |

We
continue to need volunteers! The
food pantry requires at least 16 volunteers during
Wednesday distribution to make sure everything runs
smoothly. On Saturday we need closer to 20 volunteers
to help during distribution. Volunteers are always
needed in distribution, check-in, parking detail and
food rescue (picking up and helping put the food away
once it arrives at the pantry). Opportunities to serve
are available every day. Depending on the day we need
help in the morning, mid-day, or during distribution
in the afternoon. It is a blessing and very rewarding
to be a helping hand in this ministry. Please
prayerfully consider if you are able to help.
If you are able to spare some time, whether once a week, a
couple times a month or even once a month, or
if you are already volunteering and need to make an adjustment
to when you are scheduled, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Susan
Gottlieb.
